Dear Mr. Direnfeld

Thank you for the information regarding I Promise Program that you hope to implement.
Since several months I have paid attention to the graduated licensing system for teenager safe driving, which recently have been spreading in the several states of U.S. as well as Canada. Nowadays it is not infrequent to see crashes and violations caused by teenage drivers in Korea where no specific safety policy for young adults has been established so far in the circumstances with increasing number of motor vehicles, especially passenger cars- every 4 people own a car-.

I believe your plan that involve both parents and teenagers in association with a community surveillance has definitely potential to prevent drink driving and to make help young drivers having appropriate behavior in their early driving life.

I offer my support to your efforts and would be interested in any further information as your project runs on, since the result might be used as a reference in planning road safety policy for teens in Korea later on.

Sincerely,

Sang Wan Lee
