Dear Sir:
I am writing this letter on behalf of the Paramedic Class of 2001 at Bassett
Health Care in Cooperstown, New York.
During our short careers as EMS providers, we have all seen our fair share
of teen deaths in Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA's). We would like nothing
more than to reduce that number as low as possible, zero would be nice.
We are all in agreement that alcohol, unsafe driving practices, not wearing
seatbelts, not driving defensively are the main contributing factors in
most of these MVA's. In addition, most teens are inexperienced and do
not know the roads they are driving on as well as they think they do and
try to go way too fast on them, resulting in injury and deaths.
You have our support 100% in your effort to reduce these unfortunate deaths.
