Dear Gary:

The Canadian Association of Principals just had their Executive and Council meeting over the weekend.

At the meeting, it was affirmed that the Canadian Association of Principals fully supports the "I Promise Program".

The issues around drinking and driving are of great concern to school administrators, particularly when, every year, we have a number of our students who are killed or badly injured due to alcohol related vehicle accidents.  Sadly, many of those accidents could have been avoided with a little caution, and preparation.

Often, this is the part where parents can take an active role, in educating their teens of the dangers of drinking and driving, and offering alternatives through programs such as the "I Promise Program".
Parents and guardians are the key to mitigating the dreadful carnage that is occurring on our highways.

The "I Promise Program" offers some of the strategies which can accomplish what we all want; safe proms, graduation parties, and house parties.

Congratulations on the work your group has done to date; count the Canadian Association of Principals as one of your enthusiastic supporters.

Sincerely,
